Caption: Plate V.T.20, titled: Pharaon submerge dans la mer rouge / Farao verdrinkt in ‘t roode meer (The Pharaoh drowns in the red sea on Pesach). Exod.XIV.21-30. This plate shows: Moses stretching his hand over the sea and letting it return to it’s strength. In the red sea there are the Egyptians and their Pharaoh drowning and on the land are the children of Israel which Moses saved. This plate originates from: ‘Tableaux de vieux et nouveau testament. / Afbeeldzels van ‘t oude en nieuwe testament.’ (transl: Images of the old and new testament.), published in Amsterdam by Francois Halma, 1710. This bible is generally refered to as the Scheits print-bible, after the artist who designed the plates. 8.1 x 10.4 Inch
