Caption: This famous map of the Holy Land shows both sides of the Jordan, the shoreline running from Tripoli as far as the Nile Delta. In the Red Sea, the Pharaoh’s troops are shown drowning. The title cartouche is flanked on either side by Moses and Aaron. The map contains many place names, rivers and mountains. Ornated as well with sailing ships, sea monsters and two compass roses in the Mediterranean and in the Red Sea.
