Caption: Reisen der Kinder Israel aus Egypten. The map illustrates the travels of the Children of Israel out of Egypt. The path of the Israelites is delineated. It starts at the lower left in Egypt, crosses the Red Sea through the dunes of the Wilderness, and ends at the upper right corner to the west of the Jordan river. Different stopping places are indicated along the way. Mountains, cities, fish and a sea god are depicted around. German text on verso. Heinrich Bünting, was a theological commentator from Hanover, he published his ‘Itinerarium Sacrae scripturae’ in 1582. The book is illustrated by several symbolic woodcut maps. 15 x 12 inch
